Branding Session with SpeakEasy Slams

Let's start from the beginning...

I met with Adam over a beer to better understand his goals as a poet doing poetry slams in August 2021. He started using Instagram back in 2017 and made his first post on August 15th which resulted in less than 100 views. He performs spoken words and already have a following. However, he needed to do more in promoting himself online starting with Instagram. In over 4 fours, he only generated 47 followers with 4 posts. Obviously, he needed to post more with better marketing content and later poems.

Rebranding...

After understanding his goals to gain more followers and engagement, I proposed rebranding @i_am_castle so we brainstormed and came up with @speakeasy_slams as we wanted to have a play on words with speakeasy and slams to attract a bigger audience of not only poetry lovers but also beer drinkers. We decided to launch an online campaign to drink beer at breweries to attract more followers and post fun stories to get more engagement as we wanted to better understand his audience of beer drinkers and poetry lovers. Furthermore, we expanded upon this audience by including businesses such as breweries like Aslin or restaurants like Busboy and Poets where he would like to perform his live poetry slams.

Introduction...

In our first post, I introduced @SpeakEasy_Slams on my Instagram post at @Rayne Woo Photography to get his profile in front of my followers. He changed his @i_am_castle profile with another portrait taken during our session and changed the @speakeasy_slams profile as well with another portrait. Now I had sent him another portrait we had taken during our session to set the stage for him to introduce his poetry to his existing and more importantly potential followers at @speakeasy_slams

Social Media Campaign Execution...

As we launch his social media campaign, we start the narrative by posting about his passion for poetry to build up anticipation for his next live poetry slam. @Speakeasy_slams wanted to talk about mental health in his next poetry slam so the narrative continues with subsequent posts about self care and love.
